Chocolate Ville- A-must-go-place in Bangkok

Looking for a nice restaurant for a romantic casual dinner when you're in Bangkok? This place is by far the best we found, the only scenic European-themed restaurant with outdoor dining area that has terrific atmosphere and soft ambiance accompanied by the oldies musics, not forgetting the fantastic view of those incredible western buildings especially the lighthouse where you can climb the stairs all the way up until the end, standing on the top to enjoy the panoramic view of this European village, river, boats, ducks, candy houses, sheeps, old-styled pubs, clock tower, and nothing can beat the evening view from top ,when the day begins to fall before the night comes, that's when they start turning on the lights creating a different warm feeling from what you experience in day time.

Went there few months back and haven't decided to post any of the photos until some of my friends asking for their upcoming trips to Bangkok. Good choice! So, here you go, my true personal experience. Don't miss out a chance to visit this wonderful place if you're travelling to Bangkok!

Chocolate Ville.Well, not even a single thing related to chocolate though, it just a name of the restaurant and it starts operating only from 4pm until late night but my advice, be there as early as you can to avoid getting snarled up in the evening traffic end up adding an extra hour and cost to the journey.

I've had a great experience spending my dinner at here. Services are good, just make sure you learn a few basic Thai words for foods ordering as we were having some real difficult time ordering just for a glass of water.
Otherwise, everything is fabulous.

Take you on a tour of this unique village in Bangkok..
The entrance was designed with sandy beachfront with lots of giant candies, boxes, and an old-styled red van placed just next to the fake gas station.

This is by far the best view and i truly in love with it. (Below)

Biggie Duckie must have lost his way from Victoria Harbour

The view as the night comes. The entire place instantly livens up with the warm, soft, and comfortable feeling leaving you a memorable experience you can't forget whenever you go.

Try imagine this when you're sipping a glass of wine in this evening, enjoying the oldies misuc, occasionally hearing the bird chirping happily in the sky as if greeting the good start of another new month. ( Copied from my instagram)

The stunning view from the top in lighthouse

Amazing, isn't it?

Food
People always worrying about the prices when dining in such a high standard restaurant. Surprisingly Choco-Ville serves good foods at reasonable prices! It's like the amount of money you spend when you eating outside with your family in one of those chinese restaurant. In Choco-Ville there's a wide range of food choices ranging from Western foods like steaks, pizzas, fish and chips, spaghetti-s to Asian (Chinese, Indian, Thailand cuisine) foods like fried-fish, noodles, toufus, tomyum soup, choisum and so on. You won't end up starving for not having a food of your own choice to eat. So stop worrying if you're one thrifty traveler or vegetarian.
Alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages are being served in variety of choices too.
Cake and desserts are available too!

Transportation:
It's no challenge at all getting a cab to Choco Ville. This restaurant is slightly far away from town and it took us about one hour to reach but, you will never regret spending an hour journey for the visit. One thing, remember, before you take any cabs, make sure they run by meter. We were charged THB400 all the way to Choco Ville which is located at Kasetnawamin Road (quite a distance from the city), soon we realized that we actually got ripped off earlier by paying twice as much from the fare (THB280) we were paying the time we go home.

Friendly reminder:

  • Show them the map, address or the name in THAI. They don't speak or even able to read ABCDEFG........until Z.
  • Go google map, print it out, have everything translated in THAI, then you'll be free from any hassles in getting to the destination.
  • Please make advance reservation to avoid end up waiting for hours before your turn being served.
  • Go home before midnight unless you're driving, to avoid running into a risk of not able to get a cab because many taxi refuse to travel that far.

Here's the full address:

Chocolate Ville,

  2. Your blog is very informative. Eating mindfully has been very hard for people these days. It's all because of their busy schedules, work or lack of focus on themselves. As a student I must admit that I have not been eating mindfully but because of this I will start now. It could help me enjoy my food and time alone. Eating mindfully may help me be aware of healthy food and appreciating food.Bangkok Tuk Tuk Tour
